This workshop is intended as an introduction to multi-anvil techniques utilizing synchrotron radiation for research in the Earth and material sciences. The workshop will include one day of lectures covering general topics on multi-anvil techniques, including pressure cell design and calibration, and specific applications of synchrotron radiation, including x-ray diffraction, radiography and tomography, and data analysis. Days 2 and 3 will be devoted to hands-on demonstrations of cell assemblies, data analysis, and real-time x-ray diffraction and radiography using the Large Volume Press.
