We have an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Staff Member in experimental physical chemistry and/or solid-state physics. Experimental work within the Material Dynamics and Kinetics (MDK) group involves laboratory experiments to obtain reactant and product equations of state related to explosives and metals, phase diagrams, and optical spectroscopy including IR absorption, Raman, and pyrometry, under static (diamond anvil cell) compression to GPa pressures and/or 10-3500 Kelvin (via laser or electrical heating). You will interact with LLNL computational physicists and chemists toward developing comprehensive models that accurately predict myriad of combustion, energetic material, and propellant reaction processes.  This position is in the MDK group within the Material Sciences Division.
