The GSECARS/COMPRES gas loading facility is located at GSECARS sector 13 at the Advanced Photon Source. It allows loading gases such as helium, neon, argon, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide at pressures over 1600 bar into a diamond anvil cell. The gases can be either the samples under study, or used as hydrostatic pressure media. The facility is available for all users at the APS, and for users of other facilities via a mail-in service.
