PhD position at University of Münster & DESY Hamburg

The Institute for Mineralogy at University of Münster (Prof. C. Sanchez-Valle) in collaboration with DESY Hamburg (Dr. H-P. Liermann) is seeking a motivated PhD student to investigate the properties of planetary ices in mini-Neptune exoplanets using X-ray diffraction probes in diamond anvil cells at the European XFEL and PETRA III (DESY). The ideal candidate should have an excellent background in mineralogy, mineral physics, physico-chemistry and/or material sciences. Experience in high pressure and/or X-ray diffraction techniques is preferred.
